报告题目:Recent Advances in Finite Element Methods of Fourth-Order Elliptic Problems

摘要:This talk presents some recent advances in finite element methods for solving fourth-order elliptic problems, which requires the conforming finite element space to be globally differential. However, constructing such a conforming space can lead to higher polynomial degrees and computational difficulties. To alleviate this, a family of nonconforming finite elements within the SPP-BEAM error analysis theory framework will be introduced. Additionally, a novel family of mixed finite element methods will be presented for solving fourth-order problems with the symmetric stress sought in the Sobolev space H(divdiv) and the displacement sought in the L2 space. The newly constructed H(divdiv)-conforming finite elements for symmetric matrix-valued functions are computationally desirable due to their easy-to-write basis functions. Numerical experiments will be conducted to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed methods. The talk is mainly based on the joint works with Rui Ma, Shudan Tian, Min zhang, Shangyou Zhang.

个人简介
胡俊,北京大学数学科学学院教授,主要从事非标准有限元方法的研究,(与合作者)建立了一个设计线弹性力学问题混合有限元方法的新框架, 构造了以多项式为形函数、应力严格对称、有最优收敛性的稳定混合有限元,并在此基础上设计了四阶问题内蕴的混合有限元方法;首次构造出线性化Einstein-Bianchi方程组两族保结构的稳定混合有限元方法。曾获教育部自然科学奖一等奖、国家杰出青年科学基金、冯康科学计算奖、中国数学会计算数学分会首届青年创新奖。现任期刊Adv. Appl.Math.Mech.执行主编、期刊Comput. Math. Appl.,Comput. Methods Appl. Math.,CSIAM Trans. Appl. Math.,J.Comput.Math.和数学理论与应用的编委、北京计算数学学会理事长、中国数学会常务理事、中国大坝工程学会大坝数值模拟专业委员会副主任委员,中国数学会计算数学分会理事,当选为中国科协第十次全国代表大会代表。
