报告题目：Principal eigenvalues of elliptic operators with applications in structured models

报告摘要：How do optimal traits emerge during biological evolution? In this talk, we address this question through structured models, in which the theory of principal eigenvalues of elliptic operators plays a pivotal role. We will review some recent progress on principal eigenvalues for second‑order elliptic operators, focusing on their monotonicity and asymptotic behavior with respect to the diffusion rate and flow amplitude. These local asymptotic analyses provide useful insights into the global behavior of the principal eigenvalue, thereby helping us better understand the emergence of optimal traits. This talk is based on joint work with Professor Yuan Lou.

个人简介

刘爽，北京理工大学准聘教授，博士生导师，入选国家高层次青年人才、博士后创新人才支持计划。研究方向是偏微分方程与生物数学，关注椭圆和抛物算子特征值理论和物种传播问题，在Math. Ann., J. Math. Pures Appl., Trans. Amer. Math. Soc.等期刊上发表论文20余篇。主持国家自然科学基金青年项目和面上项目，获北京市优秀博士学术论文奖，担任中国数学会生物数学专委会青年委员。
