报告题目:On the Diophantine Equation (a^k-1)(b^k-1)=xⁿ

报告摘要：This talk focuses on the history of the Diophantine equation (a^k-1)(b^k-1)=xⁿ and a method for handling higher exponents n>2. For the specific pair (a,b)=(2,3), Szalay (2000) solved the case n=2. Hajdu and Szalay (2000) and Cohn (2002) studied related pairs. Luca and Walsh (2002) gave computational results for many (a,b). We (2025) proved that for (2,3) no solutions exist for any n>2. It is the first result of this equation for n>2. This is a joint work with Chang Liu.

报告人简介

何波，阿坝师范学院数学学院副院长，主要从事代数数论及其应用的有关研究，首届“阿坝英才计划”菁英人才，美国《数学评论》评论员、德国《数学文摘》评论员，阿坝师范学院学科建设委员会副主任、应用数学研究所所长，西北大学数论及其应用研究中心客座教授。 主持国家自然科学基金青年基金1项、地区基金1项,四川高校科研创新团队1项，在Trans. Amer. Math. Soc.、Acta Arith.、J. Number Theory、《数学学报》,《数学进展》等国内外期刊上发表学术论文40余篇，被SCI检索30篇，代表性论文There is no Diophantine quintuple, Trans. Amer. Math. Soc. , 2019，371：6665-6709解决了丢番图数组存在性的公开问题。获得2020年首届川渝科技学术大会优秀论文三等奖、2021年四川省数学会首届“基础数学奖”三等奖。
