报告题目：Energy dissipating ALE-MDR method for Navier--Stokes free boundary problems with moving contact line

报告摘要：We present an energy-dissipative arbitrary Lagrangian–Eulerian finite element method for surface-tension-driven incompressible Navier–Stokes flows, with particular emphasis on robust treatment of moving contact lines under prescribed contact angles. Mesh quality is preserved by combining the Barrett–Garcke–Nürnberg artificial tangential velocity on the free surface with a minimal-deformation-rate (MDR) strategy in the fluid bulk and along the solid wall. Key contributions include a new ALE mesh strategy that, within the MDR framework, optimizes the mesh in the fluid interior and on the solid substrate, thereby mitigating the mesh degradation typically induced near moving contact lines. The method also exhibits a clear energy-dissipation structure that accounts for both kinetic and surface energies. Numerical experiments in two and three dimensions demonstrate robust mesh quality over long time horizons and consistent energy-dissipation behavior.

胡嘉顺, 香港理工大学应用数学系助理教授(研究)(Research Assistant Professor)，2016年获清华大学数学学士学位, 2021年获清华大学数学博士学位。2021-2024年在香港理工大学应用数学系从事博士后研究，主要研究方向为偏微分方程数值方法, 包括几何流与曲面演化的有限元方法, 以及自由界面与流固耦合问题的数值计算和误差分析。相关成果发表于Numer Math、SINUM、SISC、Science Advances等期刊。
