报告题目:Multiple time scales for reaction-diffusion systems

报告摘要:It happens often that in an interacting system, different processes take place at different time scales, on each of which the system might be described by a different model. A typical example stems from a large system of reactions, where many reactions happen with much faster rates than the others. Using this, one can obtain a reduced model by assuming that the fast reactions achieve their stationary states immediately, and this technique has been utilised quite often in chemical engineering. The rigorous, mathematical study of this phenomenon shows interesting yet challenging problems. In this talk, I will first discuss certain modelling questions leading to the multiple time scales phenomenon, and then present some common techniques to mathematically investigate the problems.
报告人简介
Bao Quoc Tang副教授于2015年在奥地利格拉茨大学数学系获得博士学位。现任奥地利格拉茨大学数学系终身制副教授。主要从事反应扩散系统的理论及应用、偏微分方程边界噪声的稳定性、流体动力学中的能量守恒、确定和随机动力系统理论等相关问题的研究,目前已在包括Arch. Ration. Mech. Anal.、SIAM J. Math. Anal.、Ann. Inst. H. Poincaré、J. Diff. Equ.、Nonlinearity、J. Math. Biol.等国际知名学术期刊上发表学术论文四十余篇。
