报告题目:Tiling structure of amenable groups and its applications

报告摘要:The concept of amenable groups was introduced by von Neumann in 1929 while studying the Banach-Tarski paradox. However, the structure of amenable groups has been a bit mysterious since then. In their seminal work published in 1987 Donald Ornstein and Benjamin Weiss developed the machinery of quasitilings for it. Along with my colleagues we solved a question about tileability of countable amenable groups using finitely many tiles with good invariance properties. The problem was open for a long time, but it was overshadowed by another, more difficult, problem about tileability using only one tile. In this talk, I will report our finitileability theorem for amenable groups and some of its applications, including the study of symbolic extensions of amenable group actions and new dynamical characterizations of amenable groups.

报告人简介

张国华,2007年7月博士毕业于中国科学技术大学数学系(现为数学科学学院),入选全国百篇优秀博士论文,2013年起任职复旦大学数学科学学院教授。研究方向是拓扑动力系统,主要研究动力系统的复杂性理论和可数离散群作用动力系统的熵理论。在Memoirs Amer. Math. Soc., J. Reine Angew. Math., Adv. Math., Ergod. Th. Dynam. Systems, J. Mod. Dyn., J. Funct. Anal., J. Differential Equations等国际知名刊物上发表论文30余篇。承担了国家自然科学基金优秀青年基金、面上项目等多项科研项目。
